Cow Pee Coming Soon to a Beverage Section Near You

Super-thirsty for something salty and delicious? If you can't find Gatorade and live in India, you might try some gau jal instead. The secret ingredient? Cow pee.

The Cow Protection Department of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which is the oldest and largest Hindu nationalist group, projects that bottled cow urine could be unleashed on the world by the end of this year.

Not surprisingly, some of the concerns are getting rid of the pesky pee smell and making it tasty. The drink will be mainly cow tinkle with a few herbs to, er, mask the taste of its primary ingredient.

Would you drink the stuff?

Los Angeles officials say that they're going to reconsider a water conservation proposal that won't just ask residents to change their habits, but calls for recycling wastewater, too.
With all the chemicals seeping into the ground from industrial waste, how could anyone be worse off?

The New York Times Magazine posted an interesting article last year about reclaimed water.
Although there is a psycological aversion to water made from sewage, reclaimed water has been shown to be safer than bottled water.

Would waste water recycling be any different than drinking cow pee?
